The Seven Hermetic Principles.

If I told you that there is a few keys to understanding the power of the universe right at your fingertips…

would you want to know more?

What are the 7 hermetic principles?

Hermes Trismegistus was a Greek god who was believed to be the equivalent of the Egyptian God Thoth, known as the author of the “Hermetica Corpus” and the “Emerald Tablets.” From my interpretation, I believe them to be all in the same.

Both texts were written in the 2nd and 3rd century AD and are regarded as the foundation of Alchemy and Hermeticism. These texts are believed to carry the secret wisdom to the transformation of the soul.

The oldest documented source of the Emerald Tablet text was written in Arabic, first by “Balinas” and then by “Jabir ibn Hayyan” in the 8th century. The information was then translated into Latin in the 12th century by Hugo of Santalla.

Even though the oldest documented source of the Emerald Tablet text was written in Arabic, first by “Balinas” and then by “Jabir Ibn Hayyan” in the 8th century, It was then translated into Latin in the 12th century by Hugo of Santalla.

The language of these texts were very symbolic in nature and were rarely revealed to the public. Alchemists and Hermetics were considered to be magicians of the world who understood and knew more then most. That kept the Hermetic teachings very mysterious and unclear in nature.

It wasn’t until 1908 when a book called “The Kybalion“ was written by three authors who chose to remain anonymous under the pseudonym of “The Three Initiates” that we were able to get an access to the secret teachings of Hermeticism that were kept under cover for centuries.

Why are they important to know?

This knowledge can be life transforming when understood appropriately. What I have come to know for sure is that only those who are ready to handle and apply the information can fully read it and digest it in the way it was meant to be understood.

The 7 Hermetic principles

#1) Mentalism - “The all is mind; the universe is mental.”

Everything we think is. You know that saying, “What you focus on grows?” It’s true. Thoughts actually do become things. Whether you want to admit it or not, your thoughts are creating your reality.

#2) Correspondence - “As above, so below; as below, so above.”

You are the universe, and the universe is you. Life is a mirror and all is connected. Who is God is also us. Who we are is also God.

#3) Vibration - “Nothing rests; everything moves, everything vibrates.”

EVERYTHING is made of energy. You, the table, your pet. When you go as deep as you can on a molecular level…matter doesn’t actually exist. Only energy does. Crazy, right?

#4) Polarity - “Everything is Dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”

Hot, cold. Ying, yang. Water, fire. Love, hate. Nothing in this life is “good” or “bad” on a universal law perspective. All exists on the same scale with varying degrees.

#5) Rhythm - “Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.”

What goes up, must come down. Have you ever been riding a really high emotional wave in life, and then came crashing down later? This law is the lesson on the emotional balance scale and how mastering it can keep you on the wave of life.

#6) Cause and Effect - “Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law; Chance is but a name for Law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the Law.”

Everything you do has an outcome from it. There is no judgement in the universal law, only reactions to your actions. Karma is real.

#7) Gender - “Gender is in everything; everything has its Masculine and Feminine Principles; Gender manifests on all planes.”

Males have feminine and masculine sides. Females have masculine and feminine sides. We can tap into these energies to co-create our life significantly.
